Gen Z, born between 1995 and 2010, make up 35% of the global population. That’s 3 billion people worldwide who’re into memes. Crazy, right?
This generation grew up in the digital era. They’ve seen MS Paint, and they’ve also seen MS Paint die. Basically, they’ve been through a LOT.
This mobile-first generation comprises of creators, memers, independent individuals who strive for justice and climate change, and also… the ones who’re gifted with the ability to learn TikTok dances in a minute.
Because they’re the digital generation, they influence social media a LOT. Campaigns, trends, and movements are only successful if they’re done the Gen Z way. Think Tree, we like to think, is great at doing just that. Our forte is staying relevant with the times and TikTok…oops, we mean Reels!
Here are some things we did for our clients the Gen Z way, which turned out to be extremely rewarding and successful!
- Emojis? Bring them ON!
Want to communicate with the masses and your message doesn’t include emojis? Sorry, that’s just not going to work out. We understood this, which is why our IG stories are a treat for emoji lovers!
Adding a sprinkle of emojis to your communication instantly makes it fun, engaging, and relatable. So the next time you’re putting up a story, don’t forget to add emojis! 🤯👻😍😇😎🤩
- Get on with the trends!
Want to make your presence felt? Peep outside the regular ways of communicating! Keep a check on what’s trending. A new platform? Get on it. The generation’s full of creators, so become one!
We did this by adopting reels. Reels are 15-30 second videos on Instagram which are funny, relatable, informative and what not. Instagram’s (much needed) alternative to TikTok. So we saw the opportunity and took it. Reels are an awesome way to increase your brand’s engagement and awareness. So we went ahead and incorporated reels for all our clients. It’s been very rewarding to say the least.

- Don’t flow in the mainstream, do LIVE STREAM!
If you think a bunch of strangers are going to be interested in your life and will watch it if you stream it, YOU’RE RIGHT!
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter- almost every platform has a live streaming option and for a great reason. Use it for your benefit!
Gen Z loves taking part in exclusive things, experiencing new stuff, and making new connections. Think Tree knew just the nerve to hit.
For Mother’s Day, we collaborated with everyone’s favourite A2B and Sriram Sulia, 94.3 Radio FM’s beloved RJ, to surprise some moms, and we live-streamed the event.
Was it a tasty success? DUH!
- Go beyond social media.
For successful campaigns, think outside the box. You don’t need to restrict yourself to social media. Confused? We’ll tell you what we did.
Everyone’s favourite chocolate cafe SMOOR wanted to do something exciting for Friendship’s day and Raksha Bandhan. Something different, something that’s never been done before.
What did we do? We brought Spotify into the equation and created custom playlists for different kinds of friendships and sibling relationships. We sent out QR codes of these playlists with SMOOR’s chocolate boxes.
