Our BRIEF

While Fallout has a massive audience outside, for the average Indian audience this was a whole new world. For the marketing of this title, we had looked at one main communication hook – explore the world of Fallout.

The  Approach

Through a gaming marketing approach, we looked at our 3 main target audiences and catered one big marketing idea to each audience. Our three audience were –

  1. The gamers
  2. Sci-fi/Action lovers
  3. Drama series consumers

For the gaming audience, we looked at a live stream between two big gamers in India, Mythpat and Payal. As part of an online gaming promotion, in this live stream, both played Fallout 88 together while wearing vault outfits. We had multiple CTAs littered through the 2+ hours of livestream. This activation garnered us 780k+ views, close to 150 comments, and 7.7k likes. We received a lot of positive sentiment and curiosity for the tv show. 

For the action/sci-fi lovers, we got Ali Fazal – actor of the extremely popular prime series Mirzapur to work on a collaborative reel + story on why he loves Fallout. This influencer marketing campaign garnered 290k views, 10k likes, and close to 150 comments.

THE FINAL RESULTS

Finally, for the drama series consumers, we worked on an on ground activation where we collaborated with delivery partner Swiggy Instamart and added an interactive brochure which was a maze about the show and the characters. Users could read up about the universe and scan a QR code to watch the show.
We also engaged with fans with creator collaborations, smart editorials such as memes, scene lifts, reels, and others which helped us reach our social goals – 306k engagements and 9k mentions [vs 300k engagements, and 3.5k mentions].
