Our BRIEF
Thinktree was tasked with curating a campaign to promote Maradona: Blessed Dream, a docu-series about the late Diego Maradona. We were to create hype around the series through meme seeding, influencer outreach, live event digital amplification and editorial content.
The Approach
The football hero Maradona will always be #10, whether it be for his good nature or his talent on the field. Being that #10 was his jersey number and synonymous with him, we decided to use it as the main thought behind the launch of the Maradona: Blessed Dreams docuseries.
This campaign saw football lovers come together on Twitter to battle it out for the title of the state that housed the biggest Maradona fans. The banter got so heated, #MaradonaOnPrime secured the #2 trending position for an entire day. If that wasn’t iconic enough, the campaign inspired an All Star FC Vs. Influencer FC football match where each player donned the #10 jersey as they paid tribute to the legend.
This heated football match was covered on the Prime page- live, to give viewers a glimpse of history unfolding. Victory went to the Infleuncer FC but we’re sure Maradona would have been proud of both teams for the passionate play.
